Bloodplanes break the silence of clouds–strangely
Lonesome–as we, the living, pierce ourselves with the
Hooks of memory, digging without rest, digging night
& day, throwing ourselves into the holes of grief in
Search of ourselves changed forever–looking up,
Seeing nothing, in disbelief looking up again.

I see tragic and sadness in Steve McCurry’s pictures around 9/11. Maybe we should continue this selection about grief and sorrow with images from Iraq and Afghanistan to understand the vicious circle mankind has trapped in.

That Day was a terrible example of Man’s inhumanity to Man. Yet, in spite of the terrible events, there were so many examples of profound humanity, sacrifice and bravery. These images provoke so many emotions. Thank you.

I couldn’t have said it better than anyone else here. On 9-11, we grieved with friends and strangers. Ten years later, I’ll do so again.
I will never forget.

Steve, thank you for posting these powerful images. I am not an American but my heart is with the American people now. It is the most horrifying experience when a tragedy of this scale happens in your town, where you least expect it. Then the distant issues of hatred, religious bigotry and terrorism become a first-hand reality, opening your eyes and your heart to the suffering and injustice that prevail our troubled times.

It does not matter after how many years i am checking these pics… the pain is still the same. Tragic and Sad … we see or hear blasts almost every day, but never expected it to impact these huge number of public.
